Streetlight Reading light
This was a special order for a light that would reach over the couch from behind and give flexible lighting. It is constructed all of cherry wood. It includes a rotating and angling light with a floor box dimmer switch. The switch is designed to extend on the floor from under the couch behind the readers’ ankles for ease of access. The design is inspired by a street light.
Wood is alive. While we use some epoxy and polyurethane to stabilize wood, we avoid sealing the wood with with plastic or other synthetics because we like to let our wood breathe. We use almost exclusively oil-based finishes, which allow for the organic movement and aging of the wood over time.
